Peplin Inc. (PLI) is a pharmaceutical company focused on the development and commercialisation of medical dermatology products. The company has offices in Brisbane, Queensland and Emeryville, California and a manufacturing facility in Southport, Queensland. Peplin has a Phase 3 product and is a specialty pharmaceutical company. Peplin is currently developing PEP005 (ingenol mebutate), or PEP005, which is a novel compound derived from Euphorbia peplus, or E. peplus, a rapidly growing, readily-available plant, commonly referred to as petty spurge or radium weed. The sap of E. peplus has a long history of traditional use for a variety of conditions, including the topical self-treatment of various skin disorders, such as skin cancer and pre-cancerous skin lesions. Peplin has international patent coverage over its technologies.
Clinical areas include:
- Actinic (solar) Keratosis (AK) in Phase II trial
