Dr Kathy Kociuba
Associate Director Business Development, Baxter Healthcare

Kathy has a 14 year track record of deal origination, structuring and execution with experience gained across investment banking, venture capital, technology commercialisation and most recently the corporate sector where she is currently sourcing and integrating new business opportunities for Baxter Healthcare across Asia Pacific.

In 1996, she joined Macquarie Bank’s Technology Investment Banking team and helped establish the bank’s first venture capital fund, which invested in early-stage technologies.

In 2002, she joined CSIRO and led the development of a new business model for the commercialisation function focused on spinning out new enterprises and joint ventures. During her time there, CSIRO saw unprecedented growth in high quality deal flow, number of deals closed and spin-outs formed.

Kathy joined GE Capital in 2006 and became the founding member of the Leveraged and Sponsor Finance team. Here, she played a key role in the establishment and growth of a new GE business, focused on supporting the mid-market private equity sector through the provision of debt for leveraged buy-outs and acquisitions.

Kathy is currently leading the sourcing, execution and integration of new business opportunities strategic to Baxter Healthcare in the Asia Pacific region.
