In almost all major market drops the recovery has not been a "V" but a "W" and in the time space of 6 months to 2 years from the low point - meaning markets would predicatbly go south again if one looks at history. The drop for biotechs as the GFC unfloded was greater than the general markets. Will biotechs get hit hard again if the market does a dip on a "w" as per the past?

Looks like your "W" is here. In the first few weeks of this recent retraction many biotechs did not really suffre (some in fact have had good performances VLA, PXS, QRX etc.) but Friday the 21st of May has changed that somewhat...
