ResMed FY profit lifts

Medical equipment manufacturer ResMed Inc Ltd says it sees continued growth in its operating areas after posting a 30 per cent rise in net profit for the full year.

ResMed, which manufactures sleeping and respiratory aids, posted a net profit of $US190.1 million ($207.8 million) for the 12 months to June 30, compared to $US146 million in the previous comparable period.

Total revenue for the full year was $US1.1 billion, a 19 per cent jump on 2009.

Diluted earnings per share were $US2.45, an increase of 29 per cent.

The full-year result was boosted by a record fourth-quarter profit, which rose 17 per cent to $US53.2 million.
